Work has commenced on addressing major drainage issues on the northern and central portions of Upper EWR original to the trail when it opened. A significant muddy spot on a turn near the northern end closest to Haycock Run was permanently resolved today. Work will continue towards the Jaywalk end of Upper EWR just south of the storm-damaged pines in the weeks to follow, especially in places where armoring rock was placed last sumer for future use.
